Why jute still matters

Jute is not a trend fibre. It is a plant, a mill history, and a set of hands that still know how to wrap a sole or weave a shopper that lasts a decade of markets.

At Baekicentre we use jute where it is honest: espadrille wedges, shoppers, placemats, baskets. We mix it with canvas or rubber when the product needs to survive rain. We do not call a mixed-material sandal “pure jute.”
